Celerie Kemble and F Schumacher: Matching Fabrics!

This beautiful fabric collection is from Celerie Kemble for Schumacher. I love this combination of prints and textures in a soft colorway. This is a great example on how to combine fabric prints to get the maximum impact!

The floral fabric is Hot House Flowers in Mineral. This fabric is 100% linen and has a classic tree of life pattern inspired by tropical botanical forms. Large repeat in three colorways.

The top geometrical fabric is Bleecker in Twilight. The clean geometry of the classic fretwork is softened with a beaded pattern on a linen screen print.  A great fabric with seven great colorways.

The small pattern to the right is Betwixt in Charcoal/Ecru. A very small repeat on 100% cotton with a woven texture. Contrasting colors of cotton yarns form this geometric weave in a simple woven design. Casual and versatile! A fabulous fabric in seven colorways.

The bottom woven fabric is Glimmer in Mineral. A great textured soft chenille fabric in a mixed acrylic/cotton/polyester/linen. This fabric has a light sheen in seven colorways! The surface of this fabric shimmers like burnished metal in a soft textured fabric. Rich and complex! See all of the colorways in this fabric below!

Well there you have it! The room is all done for you courtesy of Celerie Kemble! To the trade.

Decorating A Bookcase!

Make your bookshelves special by arranging them in a unique design, dressing them with special objects and personalizing them with your own touch. Below are great ideas for decorating your own bookcase from the best: Flip! For Decorating. This is a great book to help in arranging rooms and even a bookcase. See the example below from this book and from its author, designer Elizabeth Mayhew.

Decorating hints:

1- Empty your shelves and consider painting the back or lining with colored paper to make them pop! This bookcase has a yellow background.

2- Sort books by size or subject. Remove and discard any ripped dust jackets unless that adds to the value. Line your books in a rhythmic pattern to relieve the monotony of rows.

3- Fill unused spaces with attractive boxes that can store photos, cds or even smaller objects. The blocks of color with break up the rows.

4- Add ceramics and other specific objects, such as small works of art. Place family photos or personal items to make the shelves come to life.

5- Be daring and hang a picture from the bookcase moulding.

Paint and Color Inspiration from Farrow and Ball!

When choosing color for your home you need to take several factors into consideration. The architecture and style of your room, the purpose of your room and how light affects your space. That is why testing colors is so important and why just relying on paper paint chips just does not work. Remember that the paint chips are printed photos not actual paint samples. Rely on your paint manufacturer to assist you and to help you in making the right choice.
I have made it no secret that Farrow and Ball is one of my favorite companies. Exquisite paint colors in a beautifully manufactured paint. My favorite color and one I used in part of my home was Biscuit, which has now been discontinued. But as I get ready this winter to repaint parts of my home, I will once again choose Farrow and Ball for the right color choice for my walls and even some furniture too! See some inspiration from Farrow and Ball below.

Walls: Slipper Satin in modern emulsion
Trim: Pointing in estate eggshell
Cabinetry: Lime White in full gloss

Walls: Porphyry Pink in estate eggshell
